Frequently Asked Questions
Families & Caregivers
How much does a Youth or Teens series cost?
For Buddy UP! groups open directly to families, Youth (ages 8–12) and Teens (ages 13–17) series are $169 CAD for the full 4-week series.
For groups offered through a school or community organization, registration and funding are arranged through the partner organization.
The planned Kids ages 5–7 series is $129 CAD for the full 4-week series. It is currently an interest list only, with a launch dependent on demand.
How much does NeuroVerse cost?
NeuroVerse adult series are $99 CAD for the full 4-week series.
Joining an interest list is free and does not reserve a spot.
Can we attend individual sessions?
Buddy UP! programs are designed as complete 4-week series rather than individual drop-in sessions, giving participants time to get to know the same small group.
Does my child need a diagnosis to participate?
A formal diagnosis is not required to join a Buddy UP! group. If you’re unsure whether a group would be a good fit for your child, you’re always welcome to reach out before registering.
Is Buddy UP! therapy?
No. Buddy UP! groups are recreational, relationship-based, and neurodiversity-affirming. They are designed to support connection, confidence, belonging, and individual social goals in a relaxed group setting. Buddy UP! is not therapy or ABA.
Can OAP funding help with the cost?
Buddy UP! is OAP Approved. Funding eligibility depends on your family’s individual funding arrangements and applicable program requirements, and reimbursement is not guaranteed. Please confirm eligibility with your funding provider before registering. Supporting documentation can be provided upon request.
How are groups formed?
Buddy UP! groups are intentionally small, with up to four participants. When forming groups, we consider factors such as age, interests, individual support needs, and overall group fit to help create a comfortable and positive experience for everyone.
Do parents or caregivers stay during the group?
Youth and teen groups usually use a drop-off and pick-up format. Arrangements for the planned Kids ages 5–7 group will be confirmed if it launches. Contact Kathleen before registering to discuss individual support needs.
What should my child bring?
A water bottle and any agreed personal supports. Buddy UP! provides the activities and materials. Venue and snack details will be shared before the series begins.
What if my child needs additional support?
Let Kathleen know what helps your child feel comfortable. If they need one-to-one support, please discuss arrangements before registering. You’re welcome to reach out with any questions about group fit or support needs.
Schools & Organizations
Can Buddy UP! come to our school or organization?
Yes. Buddy UP! offers small, four-week daytime social group series in schools, learning centres, community organizations, homeschool programs, agencies, and other youth-serving settings. Groups take place at your location and are designed for up to four participants.
Who is Buddy UP! designed for?
Programming is designed for neurodivergent children and teens, beginning at approximately Grade 2 and up. We consider group fit, interests, social goals, and individual support needs to help participants feel comfortable and included.
How are participants selected?
Staff can identify children or teens who may benefit from the group. From there, we work together to consider age, interests, individual support needs, social goals, and overall group fit.
What does our organization need to provide?
A suitable space for the group and a staff contact to help coordinate participants and scheduling. Buddy UP! provides the activities and materials for each session.
Are individual social goals included?
Yes. Staff input helps identify individual social goals for each participant, and those goals are woven naturally into the group activities and interactions throughout the series.
Do you provide feedback after the series?
Yes. Participants receive a certificate at the end of the series, and a brief progress summary can be shared with the referring program and family where appropriate.
Can we offer more than one Buddy UP! group or series?
Yes. Depending on your needs and availability, Buddy UP! can discuss multiple groups, future series, or ongoing programming at your location.
How much does partnership programming cost?
Partnership pricing is available on request. Contact Kathleen to discuss your group, setting, and scheduling needs.

Every participant brings something different.
